My first XCO National Series was finished off on the weekend with the Australian MTB championship race held in Bright. 18 girls lined up for an exciting racing to come.

We were lucky enough to have an early start to beat the heat. The course was going to be tough with 4km of climbing and 2km descent. After a big crash in the first lap, where I felt like I was flying through the air before hitting the ground, I managed to get myself back on the bike with no major injuries, just a bit blood and a lot of bruising later on.

I ended up finishing tenth. Coming from a predominately road background and deciding to focus on XCO at the start of the year, I can honestly say it’s been a massive learning curve and something that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. I am super excited for the year to come and what it holds.

Congrats to all the girls that raced.
